Contract: Full time Permanent
Rebuilding your life whilst on probation is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. Financial difficulties can often create additional barriers to moving forward. But with the right support, it's possible.
We're looking for Community Case worker to join our Finance Benefit and Debt Team - someone with a rare mix of practicality, compassion, organisation and flexibility. We understand that rehabilitation isn't just about offering advice; it's about pro-actively supporting someone to break down their financial barriers enabling them to move forward.
Our FBD services are delivered through practical support, tailored action plans, and close collaboration with our FCA-accredited supply chain partners.
This is a demanding role; you'll be working in a challenging environment with people who have complex needs and who can be reluctant to engage. But when you help someone break the cycle and you see them take real steps forward, it's a great feeling.
About the Role:
You'll play a vital role in supporting FBD Advisors by providing mentoring, wrap-around support, and helping them to manage their caseload of service users. You'll assist with benefit applications, follow up with stakeholders, and support clients in navigating all aspects of their money management.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Advice and Support: Covering budgeting, arranging payment plans, accessing and applying for benefits, support with opening bank accounts and supporting them to gain an understanding of their finances.
* Working with external agencies Such as local councils and charities, housing providers, utility providers and probation to provide practical support and guidance.
* Administration: You will keep meticulous records of every interaction ensuring effective interventions at each appointment.
What We're Looking For:
* Relationship Building: You're able to connect with people at all levels, engaging with key stakeholders within Probation and building relationships with Service Users in a way that's genuine and promotes trust.
* Compassionate, non-judgemental approach: You will be supporting vulnerable people who may have complex needs, mental health challenges, or addiction.
* Organisation and time management: You can stay on top of detailed records by effectively planning and managing your own diary.
* Safeguarding awareness: You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks. You will be fully supported following any challenging interventions.
* Flexibility: You'll need to be comfortable with change and be able to think on your feet.
Whilst we welcome those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced Level 1 DBS check. As we wait for background checks to be completed, you'll have opportunities to shadow your colleagues, ask questions, and learn the ropes.
What We Offer:
At Ingeus, we listen to our employees and have developed a benefits package that supports both your personal and professional well-being:
* 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to trade for additional leave.
* EAP Support programme available 24/7, including 6 free counselling sessions.
* Private medical insurance and life assurance.
* Up to 2 days of Community Giving (volunteering) each year to support a cause that matters to you.
* Eyecare vouchers to help with glasses or eye care.
* Exclusive discounts via Perks at Work.
* Cycle to Work scheme and travel season ticket loan.
* Long service awards to celebrate your commitment.
* Salary Finance offering financial education and advice.
* The opportunity to purchase extra benefits like critical illness cover and dental insurance.
At Ingeus, our Justice division is dedicated to transforming lives and creating safer communities.
