Consultant Radiologist Gynae & Genito-Urinary with Lower GI Imaging

Main duties of the job
The department is committed to delivering high quality patient care. The successful consultant will maintain and expand the department’s workload, support multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, meet waiting‑list targets and enable extended working. The post is a whole‑time consultant with flexibility in general sessions.

Job responsibilities
The role involves a general workload, participation in the on‑call rota (1 in 20), diagnostic general on‑call reporting, support to existing radiologists, supervision and training of trainees, and involvement in MDTs and supervision of junior staff.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at interview
* UK trained: must hold CCT or be within six months to award CCT by interview date. Non‑UK trained: provide evidence of equivalence to UK CCT
* MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
* FRCR or equivalent medical qualification
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
* Extensive clinical training and experience in Radiology
* Ability to lead in Gynaecology MDT
* Experience and attendance in Urology MDT
* Emergency imaging and on‑call experience
* Can independently report Cross‑sectional Gynaecological Imaging
* Experience in reporting Cross‑sectional Urology Imaging
* Independent in reporting General X‑ray, US, CT and MRI imaging
* Familiarity with PACs and other IT systems relevant to Radiology
* Evidence of appropriate teaching experience within the last 3 years
* Able to supervise junior medical staff
* Demonstrates ability to undertake robust audit / research within team structure within the last 3 years
* Exposure to Lower GI Reporting
* Understanding of methods of appraisal and assessment of radiology trainees
