We are now urgently seeking an experienced
First Aid Instructor
to deliver engaging, compliant, and high-quality first aid training sessions to learners and professionals.
Role Overview
The First Aid Instructor will be responsible for delivering accredited first aid training courses to healthcare staff, care workers, and other learners. This hybrid role involves both face-to-face training in London and remote learner support. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in teaching and assessing first aid, with the ability to adapt sessions to meet a variety of learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and interactive first aid training sessions in accordance with UK regulations and awarding body standards.
* Assess learners' knowledge, skills, and competence in first aid, ensuring compliance with assessment requirements.
* Provide clear, constructive feedback to learners, supporting them in achieving certification.
* Ensure training materials and resources are up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with current first aid best practices.
* Maintain accurate training and assessment records in line with Welfare Academy policies and Ofsted/CQC requirements.
* Promote the importance of first aid within health and social care, highlighting its role in improving workplace safety and emergency response.
* Liaise with learners, employers, and stakeholders to coordinate training schedules and ensure learners have the necessary support.
* Deliver ongoing guidance and support to learners through email, phone, or video calls when needed.
* Stay informed on updates to first aid legislation and guidelines (HSE, Resuscitation Council UK, etc.).
Qualifications & Skills
* Certified First Aid Instructor qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training + First Aid at Work Instructor/Assessor qualification).
* Proven experience delivering accredited First Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses.
* In-depth knowledge of current first aid practices, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of learners.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple training sessions and learner groups.
* Ability to provide constructive feedback and encourage learner confidence.
* Previous experience in health, social care, or emergency services is highly desirable.
* Flexibility to deliver both on-site and online training sessions.
