Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a commercial lead within dynamic project teams. You will manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously, ensuring robust cost management and supporting the operational delivery of schemes across sectors such as housing, commercial, and public buildings.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading the financial and commercial management of a range of construction and maintenance projects from inception to completion.
Preparing and managing budgets, cost plans, and valuations; ensuring projects meet financial targets.
Overseeing procurement of subcontractors and materials, negotiating terms and managing cost variations.
Monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs), cash flow forecasting, and preparation of interim and final accounts.
Managing and agreeing contract variations, claims, and additional payments; ensuring contract compliance.
Mentoring and supporting junior members of the commercial team.
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Supporting the Commercial Manager and contributing to business growth.
What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or similar) in construction or maintenance within main contracting environments.
Strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts and contract administration.
Excellent commercial acumen, analytical and negotiation skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and working under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
A degree, HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
