Your new companyHays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a mainstream two-form entry primary school in the WA4 area of Warrington that is at the heart of its local community, as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced higher level teaching assistant to support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across the school. This is a full-time long-term contract (32.5 hours per week) starting 1st September 2025 that will last the length of the academic year.Your new roleAs a HLTA within this school, you will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across all classes, offering bespoke interventions in areas identified by the class teacher as well as delivering PPA cover in KS2 for two afternoons. As this is a varied position requiring support in different classes on a timetabled basis, you will work alongside the majority of teachers (if not all) at different times, supporting them to deliver an engaging and stimulating learning environment. As well as building strong relationships with colleagues, you will also build strong relationships with your new pupils by getting to know them as an individual and associating learning material with their key interests. In turn, this will enable you to ensure that all pupils reach their full academic potential. As the pupils you will be supporting are of lower and mixed ability, the interventions you will be delivering will be intense as to cover all attainment requirements. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, as well as:
* Experience planning and delivering intense interventions in core subjects (Maths and English required)
* Expert knowledge of KS2 national curriculum to deliver PPA cover
* Be at least NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualified
