Job Role: Care Assistant within the Complex Care Service
As a Care Assistant, you will work as part of a team to empower individuals with severe autism and learning disabilities. Your goal is to help them take control of their lives and achieve their full potential within society.
You will promote social inclusion and facilitate access to community settings. Support will be provided in a person-centred way, encouraging living skills at home and promoting social inclusion principles.
Your responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills, personal care, housework, shopping, cooking, attending appointments, administering medication, and maintaining records in support plans. You will also support individuals in managing anxieties and distress, ensuring their safety.
Additional support involves maintaining contact with family and friends, and facilitating participation in social events, activities, college, work, and holidays.

Pre-employment requirements:
* Obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland
* Achieve or be willing to achieve the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements, including SCQF Level 6 or SVQ2 within the first registration period
You must register with the SSSC within 6 months of employment and complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL).
