TheLeeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for flexible and reliableindividuals to work as Facilities Technicians (Patient Environment) at ChapelAllerton Hospital.
Inthis role, youll play a vital part in helping to keep our patients,visitors, and staff safe, by ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness.Youll ensure our patients are well-fed by providing meal services and youllwork closely with all teams on site by supporting the delivery of excellentpatient care.
Wecurrently have permanent vacancies, for Facilities Technicians to work asWard Housekeepers on Wards, department areas or public spaces. Various postsare available:
-Mon to Fri 0730-1400 (30 hours a week)
Successfulapplicants will be invited to an interview assessment centre held on05/08/25. The assessment centre will consist of an interview with setquestions around activities such as cleaning, ward food service, taskprioritisation, infection prevention. Details of which may be taken from theattached job description. There will also be a short interactive test to takepart in a mock patient interaction relating to being asked for directions, orhaving trouble completing a meal order
Main duties of the job
Theroles will provide cleaning duties (dusting, mopping, cleaning toilets, sinks,patient beds etc) within either wards, departments or public areas, dependanton which role the successful candidates are appointed into. Within ward areasthe role is also required to complete full catering services to Patients (aftertraining has been given).
-Ensuring the environment is cleaned to the highest standards.
-Catering duties involve a caring, Patient centred approach to meal &beverage services.
-There will be an expectation to complete ad-hoc duties when required.

Afull job description is attached but key duties include:
Cleaningall areas of allocation to the required standards and using the approved andtrained techniques
Completethe delivery of / support the delivery of the patient meal service
Replenishmentof consumable items within area of allocation
Removalof waste materials and disposal of such in correct waste disposal streams
Operationof any cleaning equipment trained to facilitate allocated duties (ie regenoven, vacuum, floor cleaning equipment)
Ableto record all information required as part of the completion of duties
Attendtraining sessions required to allow the completion of allocated duties

Experience
Essential
* do you have experience of cleaning commercially in previous roles
* do you have experience of catering commercially in previous roles
* do you have experience of working within a customer facing role

* do you have experience of working within a health care setting
* do you have IT skills/computer literate
* do you have any experience of infection / cross contamination control practice

Essential
* The role is a very physically active role and candidates must be able to complete all duties required and be cleared for duties by occupational health

Qualifications
Essential
* do you have basic literacy & numeracy - GCSE or equivalent in maths / English
Desirable
* do you have Food Safety level 1, or Cleaning / Housekeeping NVQ or equivalent Health and Safety level 1
