Protocol Education is currently working in partnership with a specialist school to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant role starting in September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with complex learning needs. The school provides a supportive, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality support both in and out of the classroom. You will:
* Assist with the preparation and delivery of engaging, differentiated learning activities
* Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping to meet their individual needs
* Promote positive behaviour and provide emotional regulation support
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure a consistent, person-centred approach
* Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills
* Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Who We're Looking For:
* Previous experience working with children or young people (especially those with SEN or SEMH)
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
* Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues
* A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience working in specialist or alternative education settings
* Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
* Relevant qualifications in education, care, or child development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
