Responsibilities
* To provide clinical care to women and men attending BHRUT Integrated sexual health & HIV services: including all methods of contraception, sexual health screening and treatment.
* To manage and provide specialist opinion for women with any complex contraception needs e.g. difficult implant removals and complex insertion / removal of intrauterine contraception.
* Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
* To be a clinical supervisor to the non-consultant medical staff, trainees and nursing staff providing contraceptive services.
* To provide clinical training in general contraception care including LARC procedures.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and ambitious individual to join the Barking Integrated Sexual Health team as a Speciality Doctor in Sexual and Reproductive Health. The postholder will be responsible for delivering the contraception and sexual health needs for patients attending the service.
They will work closely with the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Lead to manage complex contraception and support efforts to increase contraception provision for the local population. They will also be actively involved in delivering SRH teaching & training within the department and externally.
The post will consist of 8 programmed activities per week, including one evening. Sessions will be mainly held at the Barking site, but the postholder may also need to do clinics at Queen's Hospital, Ilford Exchange and Harold Wood Hospital. This post would be suitable for someone with experience in contraception who is able to fit LARC devices and who has worked in Sexual Health services previously.

All salaries are inclusive of standard allowances e.g. High Cost Area for staff on Agenda for Change contracts.
