Are you an enthusiastic and engaging person with a good imagination? Do you love working with elderly people? CARE HOME NAME is recruiting an Activities/Wellbeing Coordinator to join their team!
Your Duties...
1. Work with the Home Manager and Head of Dementia & Wellbeing to engage with and implement Advinia’s Wellbeing and Engagement Programme - S.P.E.C.S.
2. Design and organise, in conjunction with Residents, a range of person-centred, stimulating, meaningful, and engaging activities within the Home.
3. Develop, manage, and coordinate new and ongoing meaningful engagement programmes that encourage Residents to maintain pre-existing interests and hobbies.
4. Encourage Colleagues, Residents, Relatives, and Friends to participate in the Home's engagement programmes and help embed a whole-home approach to activities.
5. Arrange trips and outings to enable Residents to engage in offsite activities, maintaining their hobbies and interests.
6. Support in creating an engaging and stimulating environment throughout the Home, appropriate to Residents' needs.
7. In conjunction with the Home Manager, identify and undertake fundraising opportunities to supplement activities budgets.
8. Maintain an activities budget, managing resources, outings, and entertainment, with full and accurate records of expenditure.
9. Encourage and support Residents in deciding on activities through the development of a Resident’s Committee, ensuring all Residents have a voice and can provide feedback.
10. Ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed for all activities and outings.
11. Maximise available resources such as Band App, Advinia Monthly themes, Moments that Matter, My Life TV, Daily Sparkle, and Virtual Tours to support activities.
12. Participate in and develop activities based on monthly themes, incorporating the S.P.E.C.S programme.
13. Recognise Residents' preferences and plan individualised 1-2-1 activities as appropriate, for those who prefer or are unable to join group activities.
