We are currently looking to employ a Band 6 Deputy WardManager, full time 37.5 hours a week, to support the Ward Manager with clinicaland administrative duties on the Inpatient Ward at Pershore Community Hospital,which is a 26 bed unit. The role willinclude day, nights and weekend working.
The ward has a team of GPs, ANPs, RNs, HCAs together withsupporting staff in Social Services, Facilities and Housekeeping.
Pershore Community Hospital plays a critical role in the deliveryof local NHS services, providing more care and treatment closer to peopleshomes. Emphasis is to reduce length of stay whilst ensuring excellent care,which is safe, effective, personalised and compassionate and to the standardsyou would expect for your family and friends.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be to be responsible for the day today management of the ward, in the absence of the Ward Manager.
Manage the admissions and discharge of patients.
Evaluate and reassess nursing care according to clinicalneed.
Supervise, support and encourage staff development
Facilitate audit for the ward.
Assist in managing the ward budget.
Participate in recruitment for the ward.
Maintain your own personal and professional development.
Ensure Trust policies, procedures and guidelines areadhered to.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN1)
* Degree / Diploma and working towards a first level degree
* Evidence of on-going continuing professional development
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Additional Criteria
* Disclosure Barring Service check satisfactory to the organisation.
* Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Experience
* Experience of management of teams
* Clinical audit / project work
* Broad range of clinical experience
* Previous acute / community hospital experience
Knowledge
* High Level of clinical knowledge and skill.
* Understanding of personal contribution to the achievement of organisation objectives with the business plan.
* Clinical Governance.
* Good knowledge of community services and care pathways.
* Understanding team work.
* National and local health and social care strategies.
* Changes within community hospital care, CQC, PEAT, CQUINNS.
