Job Description
Mae'r ddogfen hon ar gael yn Gymraeg / This document is also available in Welsh.
If you're passionate about the safety of children and other pedestrians, this is a unique position within the Road Safety Team where you can make a really positive impact.
The role is people-focused with responsibility for around 35 School Crossing Patrols (SCPs) operating at locations across Rhondda Cynon Taf. The successful candidate will be out and about, working closely with individual patrols, parents and schools. You will be responsible for the staff recruitment, training, management of sickness absence, as well as ensuring that each Patrol is working effectively, wearing the correct uniform and with fully working equipment.
You will be flexible and enthusiastic, with relevant supervisory experience. As a skilled problem solver – ideally, with some knowledge of risk assessments and site surveys – you will understand the needs of our Patrols, motorists, schools and parents, and be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Your excellent customer care and effective communication skills will also be put to good use, listening and responding to enquiries from the public.
You must have the ability to visit sites across Rhondda Cynon Taf independently, and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience of working in a road safety environment would be desirable but is not essential.
