Catch22 College
Catch22 College is the collective name for 8 sites across the country that deliver academic and vocational training programmes for young people aged 16+ who are not suited to a mainstream school setting for various reasons.
Our Peterlee, Bishop Auckland, and Stanley sites, like all our other school sites, provide students with a highly supportive environment, offering opportunities to build confidence, self-belief, and to gain new skills and experiences to help them achieve their goals. We exist to help our students find their future.
The post involves working across all three Durham-based sites (1 day Stanley, 1 day Peterlee, 2 days Bishop, and a planning day to be arranged at the closest site to the candidate).

Job Description
The role of Vocational Tutor offers an excellent opportunity to support learners in developing their knowledge and skills, and in accessing appropriate training and employment opportunities.
As a qualified tutor, you will teach Employability and Customer Service to 16 to 19-year-olds (up to 24 with an EHCP). You will be supported by Lead Teachers responsible for driving quality, exceeding KPIs, and fostering continuous improvement.
*Access to a car and a full driving licence are required for this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver Employability and Customer Service training.
* Lead the development of schemes of work for service delivery.
* Create and deliver innovative lesson plans and group activities.
* Provide training to individual learners and groups, following the curriculum, and set objectives and targets.
* Offer one-to-one support to learners as needed.

Qualifications
We seek applicants who can demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, knowledge, and skills:
* Relevant professional qualification or experience in the area of instruction.
* A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Degree, PGCE, Cert Ed).
* Experience of teaching in alternative provision environments, including work with children with EAL, SEN, speech and language difficulties, or other complex needs.
* Experience working with disengaged or hard-to-reach young people aged 14-19.
* Ability to motivate and encourage students with high expectations and strategies for challenging behaviour.
* Knowledge of statutory requirements related to equal opportunities, discrimination, health and safety, SEN, and safeguarding.
Additional Information
Salary: £23,340.19 - £32,257.53 pro-rata, depending on experience (based on £25,585 - £35,360 FTE per annum)
Hours of Work: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only (41 weeks)
