Your role will include the organisation and delivery of Medicines Management Training to all pharmacy staff, to support the Principal pharmacist for education and training on the delivery of the on-going clinical pharmacy training for junior pharmacists and Foundation Trainee Pharmacists and to be responsible for the training and initial induction of all new staff on all aspects of the dispensary.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the organisation and delivery of Medicines Management Training to all pharmacy staff
Support the Principal pharmacist for education and training on the delivery of the on-going clinical pharmacy training for junior pharmacists and Foundation Trainee Pharmacists
Responsible for the training and initial induction of all new staff on all aspects of the dispensary.
To train and assess the Foundation Trainee Pharmacists, Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, nursing staff and other health care professionals in the medicines management process.
The Health and Safety Assessor will be supporting with risk assessments and training.
Support the training programme for undergraduate and work experience students.
To be a part of the education and training strategy group which will decide both the short and long term plan for education and training within the pharmacy department and deal with relevant matters as they arise.

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 3 and BTEC or equivalent qualification in Pharmaceutical Science
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician for at least 5 years
* Regional Checking Accreditation (ACPT)
* Management Qualification Degree level or equivalent management experience
* Masters-level qualification in Pharmacy Education - or demonstrable equivalent level of knowledge gained through post-registration training and experience.
* Clinical Certificate/Diploma in Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians
* Edward Jenner Course
Desirable criteria
* Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor for University of East Anglia
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
* Demonstrates significant and appropriate post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience; Experience to include: Stores, Dispensary and Ward based services
* Management experience of leading recruitment, selection and appraisal of staff
* Experience in developing and implementing SOPs and project management
* Experience of dealing with conflict and staff issues including disciplinary matters
* Experience of training and supervising staff across all levels
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
* Experience of co-ordinating and managing training programmes for Foundation Trainee Pharmacists and Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians
* Financial and budgetary management experience

Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Able to use clinical knowledge at senior level
* Knowledge of the Medicines Act and the Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors including GMP
* Pharmaceutical Law and practice
* Medicines management processes
