Senior Associate - General Litigation - Cheltenham - 5+ years PQE

Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid & Flexible)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience)

A boutique, non-corporate law firm in Cheltenham is seeking a Senior Associate to lead its General Litigation offering. This is a rare opportunity to join a close-knit, relaxed team and take ownership of a department with genuine scope for progression.


The Role

This position offers a varied caseload focused on general litigation, including debt recovery and contract disputes (non-property). You'll work independently, supported by a consultant and legal executive, both currently at full capacity. The role is ideal for someone confident, self-sufficient, and ready to shape the future of litigation within the firm.


Key Responsibilities

* Managing a broad range of general litigation matters
* Handling debt recovery and contract disputes
* Operating with autonomy and minimal supervision
* Collaborating with senior colleagues to develop the department
* Contributing to the firm's long-term strategy and growth


Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

* 5+ years PQE in litigation
* Strong initiative and ability to work independently
* Interest in long-term progression and leadership
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A relaxed, professional approach aligned with boutique firm culture
* Desire to work in a non-corporate, supportive environment


Working Arrangements

The firm supports hybrid working across all roles. Attendance at the Cheltenham office is welcomed, with flexibility to accommodate personal commitments.
