I'm recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician role at a busy, established food manufacturing site in Wigan. This is a hands-on QA position working closely with Production to make sure everything leaving site is safe, compliant, and exactly as it should be. You'll be part of the team that keeps standards high, customers happy, and audits calm (no last-minute chaos please). ?? The basics £25,000 - £27,000 Site based (Wigan) Rotating shift pattern: Shift 1: 6:00-14:30 Mon-Thurs | 6:00-13:30 Fri Shift 2: 8:00-16:30 Mon-Thurs | 7:30-15:00 Fri Shift 3: 11:30-22:00 Mon-Weds | 11:30-21:00 Thurs What you'll be doing (in real human terms) You'll be supporting quality and food safety across the site, including: Keeping QA paperwork accurate and up to date (the details matter here!) Monitoring product/site quality, hygiene standards and food safety controls Supporting investigations and customer complaints (root cause corrective actions) Helping reduce waste and prevent non-conforming product Supporting customer visits and technical audits when needed Being a calm, organised presence when others are flapping ? Must haves 2 years QA experience in manufacturing (food is ideal) HACCP Food Safety qualifications (essential) Confident with documentation, inspections and quality checks Comfortable working rotating shifts Sharp eye for detail and the confidence to challenge issues early ??
