Location: Newcastle City Centre Employer: Everyturn Mental Health-Streetwise (Working in partnership with Children North East) Job Type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) This is a 18-24 month fixed-term role (pilot) We’re excited to be opening a brand-new Children and Young People’s Safe Haven in Newcastle and Gateshead City Centres in January 2026, a warm, welcoming space where young people can get immediate support during times of mental health distress. This innovative service is a partnership between Everyturn Mental Health-Streetwise, and Children North East, and we’re looking for a passionate and motivated Team Lead to help lead and develop this project. About the role As Team Lead, you will lead the operational delivery of the Children and Young People’s (CYP) Safe Haven service and CNTW Early Help services in line with the service specification and Service Operating Procedures (SOP)s, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality support for young people in in need of Mental Health and Wellbeing Support. The Team Lead will work jointly with Everyturn and Children North East to manage staffing, service performance, and stakeholder engagement. This is a brilliant opportunity to shape a brand-new service, influence local pathways, and create a supportive environment that genuinely changes outcomes for young people and families. This role is not eligible for sponsorship as is does not meet the requirements as set out by the UK Visa and Immigration Service What we're looking for: We would love to hear from you if you possess the following: Essential: A relevant professional qualification (Counselling, Social Work, Youth Work, PGCE, etc.) Experience supporting young people’s mental health through 1:1, group or crisis support. Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff. Strong risk assessment and safeguarding knowledge. Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills. Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a changing, fast-paced environment. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable: Management experience or a management qualification. Experience delivering training to professionals.
