One of the UK's leading multi disciplinary construction consultancies are currently seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Building Surveyor to join their growing Building Surveying team, based in Kingston upon Thames, supporting a diverse and expanding client base.
My client are continuing to invest in early career talent and are now looking to appoint a Graduate Building Surveyor who is keen to develop their technical and professional expertise within a supportive consultancy environment, working towards RICS chartership.
The Graduate Building Surveyor Role
The successful Graduate Building Surveyor will support senior surveyors in the delivery of professional building surveying and consultancy services across a wide range of property types and sectors. As your experience develops, you will progressively take on greater technical responsibility, gaining hands on exposure to surveys, project work and contract administration.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in Building Surveying within a collaborative, multi disciplinary team, with structured support towards chartership.
Duties of the Graduate Building Surveyor to include:
· Supporting the delivery of building surveying and consultancy services
· Assisting senior surveyors with projects from inception through to completion
· Undertaking property inspections, condition surveys and building fabric assessments
· Supporting defect diagnosis and maintenance planning
· Assisting with report writing, schedules of condition and defect analyses
· Supporting the preparation of specifications, drawings and tender documentation
· Assisting with contract administration duties and contractor liaison
The Person?
The successful Graduate Building Surveyor will be motivated, organised and keen to build a long term career in Building Surveying. The ideal candidate will fit the following description:
· RICS accredited Building Surveying degree from a UK university
· Some prior experience through placement, internship or entry level consultancy role beneficial
· Good understanding of building surveying principles and construction technology
· Awareness of building pathology, maintenance and statutory requirements
· Basic understanding of contract administration and tendering processes
