Guy's and St. Thomas' Specialist care is located in the centre of London directly opposite the houses of Parliament consisting of an inpatient and an outpatient unit. Westminster Bridge consulting rooms is the outpatient unit and we care for patients from different specialities under world renewed clinicians.

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse who is committed to delivering high standards of care and can demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills. In this secondment you will be working closely with the administration team and the multi disciplinary team, promoting and maintaining high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
1. To manage the total nursing care of patients within the department competently and be responsible for professional actions.
2. Provide the full range of nursing services, including cannulation & phlebotomy, ECG, blood pressure measurement, glucose monitor, urinalysis, wound care and any other procedures within the scope of practice.
3. Ensure that clinical rooms are tidy and prepared including preparation of equipment clinical notes and supplies as required.
4. Ensuring the patient records are completed in a timely and accurate way and that nursing documentation is maintained accurately including electronic records.
5. Assist the senior staff nurses in ensuring the department is running efficiently and effectively at all times and deputise in their absence when necessary.
6. Be trained and able to assist in emergency patient care, including resuscitation.
7. Take part in the pre op assessment of the patients if needed, and escalate your concerns accordingly.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
11. RN1/ RN2/ RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality.
Skills

12. Phlebotomy and cannulation
13. Good use of EPIC
14. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Desirable criteria
15. SSSA+P or equivalent
16. Pre op assessment competencies completed or equivalent training
Experience

17. Experience in an outpatients' unit
18. Experience of teaching/assessing/supervising others in a clinical setting
19. Experience in managing a shift as Nurse in charge

20. Experience in a private patients' unit
