Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner - NTT
We are looking for a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with accreditation from either the BABCP or BPS to deliver low intensity psychological therapies to residents in Northumberland. The role can be undertaken on a minimum of 22.5 hours or full‑time and offers a hybrid working model with home‑working options.
In This Role You Will:
* Undertake triage assessments;
* Provide a range of low intensity interventions through guided self‑help and computerised CBT, via telephone, video and face‑to‑face appointments;
* Facilitate step 2 psycho‑educational online groups;
* Contribute to innovative service improvement projects and Special Interest Groups covering perinatal, long‑term health conditions, young people, etc.;
* Act as a mentor to trainee PWPs;
* Attend regular line management, case management and clinical skills supervision;
* Work closely with other PWPs to support one another and utilise skills and knowledge;
* Attend CPD events.

The salary for this post is NHS comparable; you will be employed on Sunderland Counselling Service terms and conditions. The position is Band 5, with a salary range of £31,048 to £37,796 a year.

Essential Qualifications
* Qualification from a PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate or Level 3 undergraduate course);
* Accreditation as a PWP (e.g., PG Cert Low Intensity Psychological Therapies).
Desirable Qualifications
* Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy background;
* Psychology or other health‑related undergraduate degree;
* Psychology or other health‑related postgraduate degree.
Essential Experience
* Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem;
* High standards in written communication;
* Ability to write clear reports and letters.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in Primary Care Services;
* Experience in a service where agreed targets were met demonstrating clinical outcomes;
* Ability to manage own caseload and time;
* Evidence of working in the local community.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
* Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training;
* Computer literate;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills;
* Ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients;
* Understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care;
* High level of enthusiasm and motivation;
* Advanced communication skills;
* Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships;
* Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively;
* Ability to work under pressure;
* Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality;
* Self‑reflective practice in service user care and supervision.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of issues surrounding work and its impact on mental health;
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems;
* Understanding of evidence‑based psychological therapies and how they relate to this post;
* Car driver and/or ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation;
* Fluency in languages other than English.
