Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Mentor to support and guide children in their educational and personal development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields, and will be skilled in various teaching methodologies. This role involves working closely with children to foster their learning, behaviour management, and overall growth.
Duties
* Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, focusing on their academic and social development.
* Assist with homework and tutoring in subjects such as Math and literacy.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and learning environments.
* Utilise techniques from applied behaviour analysis to support children with special needs.
* Engage in activities that enhance children's physical education and overall well-being.
* Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and any concerns that may arise.
* Maintain a safe, nurturing environment for all children under your care.
* Collaborate with other educators and professionals to create an inclusive educational experience.
Requirements
* Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
* Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
* Familiarity with special education strategies is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to manage behaviours positively and constructively.
* Experience in tutoring or teaching various subjects, including Math and literacy skills.
* Skills in speech therapy or proofreading are advantageous but not essential.
