Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Paediatric Department. We are seeking a dedicated Booking Clerk Co-ordinator to join our team in managing bookings. The vacancy is for 15 hours per week on a Thursday and Friday. The ability to speak Welsh at Level 3 is an essential requirement for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties
* Provide an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective appointment booking service.
* Be part of a cohesive and integrated admin function to the service.
* Provide first point of access administration for all referrals and appointments into the Paediatric Booking Centre. Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries and referrals into the service.

Person specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* GCSE Maths and English A-C or equivalent
* IT skills in relation to Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
* Awareness of local/national waiting list management policy and knowledge of waiting times
Essential criteria
* Welsh language ability at Level 3 (L3 Welsh essential)
* Experience of working in an acute hospital/GP practice
* Experience dealing with the general public
* Aptitude and abilities: ability to work as part of a team; proven communication skills (written, verbal and telephone); excellent interpersonal skills to interact with clinicians, senior managers, and clerical staff; ability to concentrate on administrative duties in an unpredictable environment; ability to react to unpredictable issues and re-prioritise own workload to meet deadlines; strong organisational skills with initiative
Desirable criteria
* Statutory Mandatory Training as per Health Board Policies
* Previous medical records or hospital-based clerical experience
* Knowledge of RTT
* Evidence of ongoing/personal development
* Role may require some flexibility
