Within our Procurement and Contract Management team, we have an opportunity for a Contract Manager to join us, based at our Raynesway office in Derby. This role specifically focuses on the Metering and Water Networks business areas, which are highly critical and strategic for Severn Trent.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As our new Contract Manager, you'll lead a high-performing team, develop, and implement strategic directions for supplier performance, terms compliance, and cost management. Working with Directors and Senior Managers, you'll protect and create value through managing contract relationships and championing Severn Trent's vision to deliver outstanding customer experience and value-for-money services.
The role involves providing strategic oversight and management of a portfolio of contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives, legal compliance, and maximizing value creation.

Key accountabilities include:
1. Manage supplier relationships through structured governance, focusing on performance (SLA/KPIs), contract compliance, and cost control.
2. Collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation aligned with business strategy.
3. Manage demand, identify opportunities via consolidated activities, economies of scale, work allocation, and forecasting to optimize contract performance.
4. Review and prioritize contract opportunities to deliver incremental value, such as cost reductions or new revenue streams.
5. Lead contract negotiation strategies, ensuring clarity on acceptable parameters and stakeholder engagement.
6. Monitor project progress, ensure costs are within original budgets, and compile monthly reviews highlighting deviations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
The right skills and experience are important, but we also value character, positivity, and a caring attitude. You should have proven experience managing complex commercial contracts, preferably with NEC and bespoke agreements. Leadership experience and the ability to work independently are essential. A professional qualification like CIPS is advantageous.
