We’re looking for a detail-focused and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Duxford. In this role, you’ll provide direct support to the Head of Accounting & Control and play a key part in maintaining robust financial controls, accurate reporting and strong compliance. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance, our Group teams and external auditors, so good communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships are just as important as technical expertise. What you'll be doing: Providing technical guidance and advice to colleagues across Finance and the wider business Preparing statutory accounts and supporting external audits Assisting with internal audits and ensuring compliance with Group reporting requirements Managing UK compliance including corporation tax, VAT returns and annual statements Preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations Maintaining the fixed asset register and overseeing month-end processes Managing the capital expenditure business case process for SMT GB Supporting the development and implementation of a new ERP system Identifying areas of financial risk and helping to improve our control processes What we're looking for: Finalist (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) From either practice or industry with solid experience in a similar role Strong Excel skills and confident working with financial data Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Highly motivated, organised and able to manage your own workload effectively A clear communicator who can work well with colleagues at all levels What's in it for you?
