ARC is looking for experienced Nuclear Safety Case Consultants to join our expanding teams in Bristol, Manchester, Reading, Plymouth, Edinburgh & Glasgow. The individuals will be a key part of our Defence or Civil Nuclear Safety Case Teams providing Safety Case Consultancy services to a number of organisations, Government bodies and Defence Prime Contractors. The work will cover all aspects of Safety Case development including:
* Hazard Identification (e.g. HAZOP Study, SWIFT, FMEA, FMECA).
* Hazard Schedules and Hazard Logs.
* Hazard Analysis.
* Fault Studies.
* Engineering Schedules.
* Deterministic Safety Assessment.
* Probabilistic Safety Assessment.
* Safety Case Production (including PSR, PCSR, PCmSR and POSR) and Safety Case Head Documents.
* Safety Cases for Modifications.
* Design Substantiation.
* Periodic Review of Safety.
Successful candidates will be expected to work with our valued clients to deliver key safety case deliverables on a wide range of projects and platforms. An ability and working knowledge of safety engineering tools and techniques together with excellent report writing skills is essential for the delivery of output. The roles will involve visits to clients’ sites, therefore the applicant should be prepared for occasional travel within the UK, and infrequent travel outside the UK.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Engineering or Science Degree with Honours.
* At least 5 years relevant and recent experience working within the Defence or Civil Nuclear Safety domain.
* Experience of producing and managing nuclear safety case assessments for both new and ageing facilities.
* An understanding of nuclear safety case implementation.
* Good interpersonal skills to operate in a dynamic and client focused consultancy role.
* Able to produce and review/correct high quality technical reports.
* Good team working and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
* Chartered Engineer or similar or in an advanced stage of working towards chartership;
* Masters Degree in a safety related discipline.
* Working knowledge of Licence and Authorisation Conditions;
* Knowledge and experience of working with regulatory organisations.

* Ability to travel in support of assignments and to liaise with clients.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
