NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post consists of 37 hours per week, rotational shifts. Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health care Support Workers to join the ECMS – Medical Specialities teams within the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Ward 27. We are looking for staff with current experience as a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker within an NHS environment.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and be expected to work on your own merit, be supported by your colleagues and remain engaged in productive team dynamics. The successful candidate should be innovative and creative within their organisational role, and will:
* Support the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist care.
* Engage in a positive ward culture as part of the nursing team.
* Engage in programmes of care to enhance the patient journey and experience, contributing towards delivery of positive outcomes using the Excellence in Care framework.
Qualifications
• Current Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker with experience in an NHS environment.
