Director of Wellness and Outdoor Pursuits — Gleneagles. We are seeking a strategic, innovative and inspirational Director to join our Leadership Team. From fishing and shooting to riding and an exceptional range of country pursuits, Gleneagles offers the finest activity holidays Scotland has to offer — an invigorating escape into the heart of the Highlands. You’ll love the great outdoors as much as we do, and relish leading adventure alongside relaxation.
Our World of Wellness showcases our serene Spa, a haven of tranquillity designed to melt away everyday stresses, with rejuvenation in our Swim & Gym spaces. Bob & Cloche, our elegant beauty lodge, adds a touch of indulgence. The role also provides consultancy support to the Pursuits offering at our sister property, Estelle Manor, in Oxfordshire.
Location: Auchterarder, off the A9. Gleneagles is within easy reach of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Stirling and Perth.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic oversight and direction across diverse teams with a strong commercial focus; be a visible, hands-on leader involved in operational execution.
* Lead projects from concept through business planning to successful execution, aligning with the Gleneagles brand and luxury experiential ethos.
* Drive revenue and profitability in a dynamic, high-volume leisure business at scale.
* Unify teams under a clear vision to ensure exceptional quality and consistency in a fast-paced environment.
* Ensure guests’ experience is exceptional by applying a guest-centric approach.
* Coach and develop your team, fostering a culture where members feel valued and motivated to perform at their best.
* Set the tone for service excellence and embed a warm, thoughtful guest experience across the organisation.
* Disseminate insights from guest data to celebrate successes and drive continuous improvement.
* Continuously assess ways of working, drive change and innovation, and improve productivity across guest touchpoints.
* Engage with guests in a warm, professional manner and exceed their expectations to ensure a luxurious stay.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a divisional leadership role or similar, with a track record of delivering commercial and experiential outcomes in a luxury leisure environment (including spa) or similar context; passion for health, wellness, outdoor pursuits and landscape.
* Innovative and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to manage changing priorities.
* Humility and willingness to listen to and learn from experienced professionals.
* Strong commercial acumen and business development skills; ability to create sustainable, commercially viable opportunities.
* Strategic thinker with practical execution ability and attention to detail.
* Proven experience in leading and developing teams with a people-first, solution-led approach and cross-team collaboration.
* Curious, ambitious and organized; able to balance strategic goals with day-to-day delivery.
* Strong relationship-building with internal stakeholders and outward-facing warmth and compassion; aligned with business needs.
* Ability to stay ahead of industry trends and proactively address opportunities.
* High motivation and pride in delivering high standards aligned with the Gleneagles brand.
