TP141 Electrical Engineers – UK – Remote – 12 Month Contract – Outside IR35
We are working with a global leader in advanced electrical and power systems to deliver critical high-voltage grid infrastructure projects across the UK. We are seeking experienced TP141 Electrical Engineers for 12-month contracts (Outside IR35) to provide specialist support on these major initiatives.
Location: UK-based (Remote with occasional site visits)
Contract Length: 12 months
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Start: ASAP
The Role:
You’ll play a key role in the delivery of high-voltage transmission projects across the UK, supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and compliance of HV systems in line with TP141 requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Acting as a TP141 authorised engineer within HV project environments
* Reviewing and approving electrical design documentation for HV systems
* Supporting safe systems of work in line with National Grid TP141 procedures
* Preparing and reviewing switching schedules and operational documentation
* Providing technical assurance across installation and commissioning phases
* Coordinating with project managers, commissioning teams, and DNO/Transmission stakeholders
* Ensuring compliance with UK grid codes, safety regulations, and client specifications
* Supporting energisation activities and overseeing site-based HV works where required
* Contributing to risk assessments, method statements, and technical queries
Requirements:
* Current or previously held TP141 authorisation (essential)
* Strong background in HV electrical engineering (132kV+ preferred)
* Experience on UK transmission or large-scale substation projects
* Familiarity with National Grid standards and procedures
* Ability to work autonomously in a remote capacity with occasional site presence
* UK right to work
