We are a high achieving, forward thinking practicein Swinton, with around 14,000 patients. We have 5 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Nursing Associate, 2 HCAs, an in-house pharmacy team of 4 and a administration team of 12. We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our well-established team for 4 sessions per week. Main duties of the job
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness Developing care plans for health Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, collecting data for audit purposes Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Job Description The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance d. Effective management of long-term conditions e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice k. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required l. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training. m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process n. Prepare and complete the revalidation process o. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team p. Support the training of GPSTs and FY2 doctors. q. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times r.
