Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our clients team in Sherborne, Dorset. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of Vehicles, HGV inc trailers. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work independently as well as work as part of a team to cover a shift pattern and breakdowns. The Mechanic will ensure that all the vehicles are functioning optimally and safely.
Expected hours - No less than 42 hours per week Incl 2 Saturdays a month. Shift work - 6.00 am - 14.00 pm & 14.00 - 22.00 pm
Responsibilities
1. Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles and machinery using appropriate diagnostic tools.
2. Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other critical components.
3. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
4. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance work, and parts used.
5. Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
6. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle or machinery issues.
