About the Role:
Smile Education is recruiting a confident and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisor to support a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Oldham. This long-term, full-time role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, or youth work.
As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will gain hands-on classroom experience, working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supervising lessons during teacher absence and supporting pupils to stay engaged and on task. This role is an excellent stepping stone into teacher training, PGCE routes, or school-based roles.
Role Responsibilities
Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared lesson plans
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
Support pupils with their learning and encourage positive engagement
Maintain a calm, safe, and productive classroom environment
Take accurate registers and report any concerns to teaching staff
Gain experience across a range of subjects and year groups
Support the wider school team when requiredYou’ll Need
A degree in any subject (essential)
A genuine interest in working with young people and education
Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills
The ability to manage behaviour and build positive relationships
A professional, flexible, and proactive attitude
An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)We Offer
