We are seeking an experienced Medical Professional Standards HR Specialist to support our 5,000 Medical and Dental Clinicians , including 2,500 GMC connected doctors.
Main duties of the job
You will support the lead with effective high level administration and systems management of:
• Medical appraisal
• Revalidation
• Job planning (including e-job planning)
You will ensure high-quality processes and compliance, supporting appraisal standards, revalidation requirements, and initiatives such as National Clinical Impact Awards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to take clear direction from management while also demonstrating initiative in responding to the daily needs of the service.
You will be expected to manage and respond promptly to urgent queries via email, telephone, and MS Teams. Strong digital skills are essential, including proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite, confidence in setting up and managing MS Teams meetings, and intermediate Excel skills, including the use of functions such as VLOOKUP.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will support all doctors with a designated body connection to the Trust by ensuring they are fully informed and prepared for their appraisal processes. This includes providing access to the appropriate training, guidance, and resources required to successfully complete appraisals.
In addition, you will provide support with the annual job planning process, ensuring doctors receive the necessary information, training, and assistance to complete their job plans effectively.
The role requires adaptability and resilience, particularly when managing unpredictable challenges such as reconciling conflicting data sources or responding to urgent compliance deadlines.
Working Approach
You will work independently with a high level of autonomy, prioritising your workload, interpreting complex data, and recommending appropriate actions in line with established policies. High-risk or exceptional issues should be escalated appropriately to senior management.
At the same time, you will contribute positively to multi-disciplinary team working, demonstrating excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Stakeholder Engagement
This role involves regular liaison with both internal teams and external partners, including organisations such as the GMC, Premier IT, RL Datix, and other key stakeholders. Building and maintaining effective working relationships is essential.
