Functional Assessor Nurse Requirements
* Valid NMC pin.
* Minimum 12 months experience as a nurse.
* Appropriate workspace within home setting that allows you to successfully complete your role, including broadband connection (equipment provided).
* No previous health and disability assessor experience required as full, paid training is provided.
Functional Assessor Nurse role
* Compile 5–6 assessments and reports a day after training completion.
* Annual salary of £40,000 (starting) – £42,000, with yearly salary increases and yearly bonus.
* Full training supplied over an initial 12‑week period—first 6 weeks virtual/remote home‑based teaching and assessments followed by 6‑week probation with mentor support.
* Performance‑related bonus up to 10% paid quarterly.
* Hybrid working after completing initial 6‑weeks of training.
* Conduct impartial, holistic health and disability assessments only, without required decisions on claim outcomes.
* Carry out telephone, video and/or face‑to‑face functional assessments to establish any functional restriction caused by a claimant's health concern.
* Act as point of contact during consultation stage for claimants with wide range of health conditions and disabilities.
* Liaise with range of clinical peers across NHS, private healthcare sector, charities and support organisations to obtain evidence that assists in producing detailed reports.
* Compile reports, then dispatch for review and decision on eligibility.
* File work as part of role (training provided).
