An innovative company at the forefront of electrification and advanced power electronics are seeking a Contract Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of next-generation electrical and electronic systems.
The company develops axial‑flux electric motors, motor controller units and battery systems, delivering compact, efficient and safety‑critical electrified solutions for demanding aerospace applications.
Overview of the Role
The Electrical Design Engineer will play a key role in the design and development of electronic systems for an electric propulsion unit. The role requires an engineer who can work autonomously, contribute from day one, and support the full electronic design lifecycle.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
*Design electronic interfaces for a variety of sensors
*Integrate microcontrollers into electronic designs
*Implement communication interfaces and electronics for CAN and UART buses
*Design interface circuits for high‑voltage devices
*Carry out complete design analysis, including simulations and analysis reports
*Support electronics implementation for LV power and control systems
Essential Skills & Experience
*Strong background in low‑voltage electronic design
*Proven experience using simulation tools such as LTSpice and/or SIMetrix
*Familiarity with Altium Designer is desirable.
*Solid understanding of electronic design principles and best practices
*Experience performing FMEAs, stress analysis, and tolerance analysis
*Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
*A well‑rounded, hands‑on electronics design engineer
Desirable Experience
*Background in aerospace and/or automotive environments
*Experience in designing to DO‑160 standards is advantageous, though not mandatory
*Exposure to high‑reliability or safety‑critical systems
