As the Morning Cleaning Supervisor, you will supervise and monitor the councils cleaning services across our corporate sites. Ensuring available resources are used effectively, you will deliver a timely and efficient cleaning service that recognises quality standards and client needs.
What you will be doing
* Your primary focus will be supervising a team of cleaning staff, allocating duties, standard induction, training, appraisal (PDPR’s) and assisting in staff recruitment.
* In line with the councils agreed quality standards and health and safety guidelines, you will monitor the quality of work carried out by cleaning staff, providing feedback to the Operations Team Lead and Area Cleaning Manager.
* Together with the Operations Team Lead and Area Cleaning Manager, you will plan work rotas, including cover for absences such as holiday and sickness and ensure there is efficient cover so we can provide an effective service.
* You will order cleaning supplies and consumables, maintaining stock at appropriate levels to ensure service delivery.
* It will be your responsibility to monitor the conditions and safe use of cleaning equipment, reporting faults and breakdowns as necessary.
* Monthly, you will have liaison meetings with clients, dealing directly with any informal complaints and report any significant issues.
What we need from you
* You will hold a vocational qualification e.g. NVQ 2 or equivalent, or similar level of accreditation or equivalent experience.
* We require you to have experience of regularly working unsupervised, with the ability to deal with routine problems but also know when to refer to the Operations Team Leader or Area Cleaning Manager.
* With demonstrable experience and knowledge of cleaning services and methods, you will have an appreciation of the importance of working to agreed standards and quality.
* It is key you are able use, carry, move, bend and lift cleaning equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaners, floor polishers etc), plus other materials and chemicals. You must be willing to wear protective clothing with an awareness of COSSH standards.
* You must be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
* You will have the knowledge and ability to check and maintain accurate records such as timesheets, rotas, stock lists and other administration duties.
What you need to know
* Salaries pro-rated to hours worked.
* You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel.
