The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Commercial Tech & Media Associate (4+ PQE) to join a growing and dynamic team in London.
You will advise clients on a broad range of commercial, IP, technology, and data protection matters, often involving innovative and high-profile projects across a variety of industries including life sciences, fintech, media, consumer products, and telecoms.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including licensing, collaboration, outsourcing, system development, and distribution agreements.
2. Advising on complex IP and IT transactions, technology transfers, and high-value commercial deals.
3. Providing practical guidance on data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR-related matters.
4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supporting wider business development initiatives.
5. Working closely with Partners and senior team members across the UK and international offices on cross-border projects.
The Ideal Candidate:
6. A qualified solicitor with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial/IP/IT law (candidates outside of this range may also be considered).
7. Previous experience in a well-regarded City, international, or major regional law firm, or an in-house legal team.
8. Strong general commercial expertise with demonstrable experience advising on IP, IT, and data protection matters.
9. Exceptional drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, commercial advice.
10. Experience managing client relationships directly and handling matters independently and as part of a larger team.
11. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for professional development and contributing to a high-performing team.
