About the Role
Skillsource is partnering with a fast-growing, international company in the agri-services sector to recruit an experienced Area Manager to drive sales growth across Wales and The Midlands.
This field-based position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to lead commercial expansion within a high-performing, customer-focused business. Reporting directly to the UK Country Lead, the successful candidate will manage existing accounts, identify new opportunities, and play a key role in delivering continued business success.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a regional sales strategy to achieve growth and profitability targets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with dairy farmers and key industry stakeholders.
* Identify and convert new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and lead generation.
* Provide expert product advice and deliver exceptional customer support.
* Manage and track performance through CRM systems (experience with Prospect preferred).
* Represent the company at agricultural trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure consistent service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Proven experience in on-farm sales, account management, or technical advisory roles within agriculture, animal health, or related industries.
* Knowledge of dairy farming operations, including herd health and hygiene management.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Experience using CRM systems to manage accounts and report on performance.
* Ability to work independently and manage a regional territory effectively.
* Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel across Wales and The Midlands.
Desirable:
* Background in providing mastitis or plant hygiene advice directly to farmers.
* Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
