Assessor – Higher Education

Full Time, Temporary Contract
Pay rate: £31.46 – £38.67 per hour (depending on experience)
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Leeds based university for an experienced Assessor to join their academic team on a full time temporary basis. This role will involve supporting students through the assessment process, providing high quality feedback, and ensuring all marking and moderation meets university and sector standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and mark student work in line with university criteria and academic regulations
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student development
• Contribute to quality assurance processes including moderation and standardisation
• Liaise with academic staff to maintain consistency across course delivery and assessment
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with university policies and timelines
Requirements
• Previous experience assessing within a UK higher education setting
• Relevant academic or professional qualification
• Strong understanding of university assessment frameworks and quality standards
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
