Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s Home Location: Carlisle Salary: Base salary of £32,349.49, with the potential to earn up to £35,606.77 per annum including sleep-ins Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week, shift pattern on rotation (2 days on / 2 days off) with staggered start times of 8am, 12 noon or 2pm Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Sleep-ins: Sleep-ins required at £62.50 per sleep (up to £3,257.28 additional per year) Service: Children’s Residential Home Service Users: Boys aged 6–18 with emotional and behavioural needs requiring therapeutic residential care Qualifications Required: Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Experience Required: Previous experience within children’s residential care, EBD, social care, residential childcare or youth work. Previous leadership / deputy management experience within a children’s home preferred The Home: Our client provides therapeutic residential care designed to help children and young people build resilience, confidence, emotional stability and essential life skills within a structured and nurturing environment. Number of beds: 4-bed children’s home Who we are looking for: We are seeking an experienced and approachable Deputy Manager who can support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care and operational excellence. You will ideally be a confident leader who can motivate staff, maintain strong standards, and create a positive culture for both children and colleagues. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home • Ensuring the home operates in line with the Statement of Purpose • Leading staff supervision, appraisals, induction and development • Maintaining safeguarding, compliance, health & safety and regulatory standards • Supporting budgeting, record keeping and financial oversight • Leading quality assurance and service improvement initiatives • Monitoring the condition, safety and presentation of the home • Promoting equality, diversity and child-centred practice • Supporting multi-home operational needs where required You will need: • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children in care • Excellent communication and listening skills • A willingness to learn and lead from the front • Enhanced DBS eligibility • Full clean UK driving licence Who you will be working for: Our client is a specialist therapeutic children’s care provider delivering residential care and education services for children and young people.
