Consultant Anaesthetist Replacement – Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

The post is a Consultant Anaesthetist replacement at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The role is part of the Anaesthetic department which covers a comprehensive range of clinical services and caters for well‑structured undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform direct clinical anaesthetic care as part of the 8 programmed activities.
* Support professional activities and contribute to teaching and research.
* Provide on‑call duties approximately 1:8 in a non‑resident arrangement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).
* Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from interview date.
* CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded.
* Those with an international recognised specialist qualification approved by GMC should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
Working Arrangements
The post is available on a part‑time basis and flexible working arrangements including annualised job plans and job sharing will be considered.
