Estimator / Quantity Surveyor — Drylining & Interiors
Location: Pontyclun, South Wales

A well‑established and growing interiors contractor is seeking an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in drylining and internal fit‑out. You’ll price and commercially manage interiors packages across South Wales, supporting projects from tender through to final account.
Responsibilities
Pre‑Contract (Estimating)
* Prepare detailed take‑offs and accurate, competitive estimates for drylining, partitions, MF/suspended ceilings, and tape & jointing.
* Build BOQs/schedules, obtain and level subcontractor/supplier quotations, and assemble tender submissions.
* Analyse drawings and specifications, identify risks and opportunities, and develop value‑engineering options.
Post‑Contract (Commercial / QS)
* Set budgets, assist procurement and package awards, and ensure scope clarity.
* Manage applications for payment, valuations, variations/CEs, CVRs, forecasts and final accounts.
* Maintain robust cost records and support site teams with commercial insight and programme alignment.
Collaboration & Delivery
* Work closely with project managers, designers and the supply chain to resolve queries and maintain strong relationships.
* Attend pre‑start meetings and site visits for measures, progress checks and commercial meetings.
* Keep up to date with market rates, material pricing and supply‑chain trends within interiors.
About You
* Proven experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or Estimating Surveyor in drylining/interiors.
* Strong understanding of internal trades (drylining, partitions, ceilings, associated finishes).
* Confident producing take‑offs and pricing from drawings/specifications; commercially astute with high attention to detail.
* Effective communicator and negotiator with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Competent with Microsoft Excel and mainstream estimating/measurement tools.
* Full UK driving licence.
Nice to have (not essential): familiarity with fire‑stopping interfaces and common drylining standards
