Job Overview
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for electrical and MEP projects. The role includes reviewing drawings and specifications, producing detailed cost plans, liaising with suppliers/subcontractors, and supporting the wider business in securing new work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed electrical estimates for projects across commercial, industrial and residential sectors.
2. Produce cost breakdowns, bills of quantities, take offs and pricing schedules.
3. Obtain, evaluate and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
4. Ensure supplier quotes comply with project specifications and offer best value.
5. Assess labour, materials, equipment and prelim costs for electrical systems.
6. Carry out risk identification and include allowances where required.
7. Support development of pre-construction budgets and cost plans.
8. Work closely with mechanical estimators, design engineers, project managers and the commercial team.
