* Deal with problems, issues and queries arising within the department or at Management level
* Ensure department procedures are reviewed and updated twice yearly
* To identify market key issues, upcoming initiatives and regulatory changes that will impact the business
* Ensure real-time escalation of any possible operational risks/incidents/errors/complaints to the Head of Operations/Deputy Head of Operations
* Regular Management information to be collated, reviewed and reported upstream
* Assist other departments at Management level as required
* Any other relevant duties to support the business
* Be proactive in developing knowledge of the industry and the market. Undertake and record relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to develop knowledge and skills.
Reconciliations
* To ensure appropriate reconciliation processes are in place in respect of quantities, types and values of purchases and sales against instructions
* To oversee all UK and International client money cash and stock accounts accurately on a daily, monthly and half yearly basis
* To ensure discrepancies are identified during reconciliations.
People Management and Development
* Coordinate tasks and delegate as required to ensure smooth running of the team, and that work is completed satisfactorily
* Ensure workload is distributed amongst team and that work is completed satisfactorily
* Foster and encourage a feedback culture
* Apportion and prioritise time for people management activity
* Be a role model for our values and behaviours. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture
* Conduct annual and interim performance reviews including setting of performance and personal/professional goals, within the Firm’s timescales. Document and fulfil requirements of performance review process
* Agree and monitor holiday, sickness, and any other form of absence from the office. Undertake return to work interviews and where appropriate liaise with HR if required
* Encourage and develop colleagues through mentoring, training, career coaching, supporting them in their individual plans to develop their knowledge and skills and helping them to remain competent to undertake their role and progress. Share knowledge to the benefit of the team and/or wider business. Be confident at setting goals for your team and holding regular 121s
* Monitor staff performance on an ongoing basis providing constructive feedback, recognising good performance and escalating concerns if necessary
