Join our team We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team. About the role Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Management Accountant will provide corporate leadership for management accounting, financial planning and financial performance. You will be joining the Finance Team at an exciting time as we look to transform the service we offer to stakeholders and drive forward financial performance. As part of the Finance Management Team, you will play a key part in making operational finance decisions. This role is integral in leading the Business Partnering Team including direct management of five Business Partners and a wider team of eight. You will lead on the delivery of month end process and be instrumental in delivering a balanced budget, as well as driving process transformation, ensuring a strong internal control environment. About you We are looking for a strong leader with a positive mindset, driven and adaptable to change. You will be: CCAB Qualified – CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent qualification experienced at a senior level, ideally within a public sector or similar environment experienced in leading and developing a team through change career minded, keen to make a positive impact, personable and patient dealing with colleagues and members enthusiastic to ensure a right for time approach and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues around the Council comfortable delivering to tight deadlines and be able to demonstrate your leadership skills able to influence at a senior level and work effectively with others, forming collaborative partnerships About us At Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils we are passionate about building communities that people want to live, work, visit and invest in.
