Health & Safety Advisor (Havant Thicket Reservoir)
We are looking for an individual to join our team on a major UK construction project as a site-based Health & Safety Advisor starting at the Havant Thicket Reservoir Project, Hampshire.
This is an exciting opportunity work alongside an experienced site-based H&S manager and team. Reporting to the project Contracts Director, Contracts Manager & Senior Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager - the successful candidate will provide site based technical and administrative support as part of the HSE Team and report to the Project site management team and Senior Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager.
The Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for providing site engagement, coaching, mentoring, training, monitoring, advising and maintaining all aspects of the health & safety processes and procedures that protect the workforce and minimise the company’s health & safety risks on all sites and locations.

The role and responsibilities will include:
Liaising with site/location delivery teams to provide advice,supportand training on all aspects of health & safety compliance and issues affecting the construction site/company location
Coaching, mentoring & monitoring health & safety practices on site/location and head office andadvisingsite/location management on improving their health & safety standards
Completing site/location health & safety inspections/audits and discussing findings and recommendations with site/location management
ISO 45001 champion & monitoring & ensuring compliance with ISO 45001
Supporting site/location with incident management including incident investigations
Supporting site/location with specific health & safety enquires,managing contractors,guidance, solutions, risk assessment, method statement, safe systems of work etc
Design and implementation of company-wide initiatives to improve health & safety awareness
Developing innovative health & safety solutions, e.g., ‘Together Safer’,behavioural safety, plant & equipment technologies etc
Advising andassistingwith audits and accreditations
Liaising with health & safety specialists,regulatorsand client representatives
Contributing to written bids for new contracts and awards
What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role you must have the following qualifications and capabilities:
Enthusiastic about health & safety issues
MinimumNEBOSH General Certificate, preferable NEBOSH diploma
Tech/Certmember of IOSH (and working towards chartered status)
Preferable 2 years working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor
Highly developed professional communication skills, including writing and presentation of reports, investigations, preparing relevant documents, andparticipatingin a range of meetings
Be able toconfidently and effectively communicate with all levels of the workforce, contractors, clients and regulatory bodies
Be self-motivated, focused, reliable, well-organised, flexible, possessgood team working ethic
Good written and verbal communication skills
Possess strong computer literacy, including good working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite
Willingness to travel & work at various sites across the UK (including overnight stays)
Full UK driving licence
