Job Overview
Mitie is looking for a part‑time security officer to work primarily on Wednesdays, covering a client site in Livingston. The role involves protecting the client’s property, people and assets in accordance with Assignment Instructions (AI’s), meeting key performance indicators, and providing a service that helps retain the contract.
Hourly rate: £13.94 per hour. Extra hours are available on this contract and others.
Main Duties
Operations
* Ensure all policies and legal/regulatory requirements are complied with as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
* Review the Assignment Instructions and suggest improvements that enhance the service level.
* Maintain a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision and a CCTV PSS SIA licence; obtain any additional courses required.
* Follow all legal obligations and safety requirements.
* Follow instructions and procedures correctly without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work methodically, systematically and in an orderly manner.
Training
* Complete all required competency training.
* Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development as directed.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards immediately.
* Stay alert to threatsIndiana or changes in the environment to reduce disruption or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative to involve others promptly if a situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations.
* Make accurate, detailed notebook entries after any incident for incident reporting.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the communication centre to report all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous security experience.
* SIA licence.
* Driver’s licence and own car, due to location.
