The contract will be for three months. You'll be working;
* Every other Tuesday from 8:30 to 17:30
* Thursday from 8:30 to 18:30
* Occasionally Friday from 8:00 to 16:30
There may be an opportunity for additional hours depending on the business needs.
Duties
* Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use.
* Provide high-quality patient care, addressing any concerns or questions patients may have regarding their treatment.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all information is up to date in the dental practice management software (SOE).
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote better dental health.
* Manage appointment schedules efficiently, coordinating with patients to ensure timely visits.
* Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed, including managing inventory of dental supplies.
* Follow practice policies and procedures
* Maintain professional indemnity and registration with the GDC
* Undertake CPD in line with the GDC guidelines
* Establish, promote and maintain productive working relationships with all members of the dental team
* Liaise with the practice manager on all matters concerning administration, pay and service conditions
* Assist with reception duties and perform other clerical duties if required
* Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work
Requirements
* Qualified Dental Nurse with relevant certification and GDC evidence
* Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
* Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
* Excellent communication skills to foster a positive environment for patients and staff alike.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Basic IT skills for maintaining patient records and using practice management software.
* Familiar with Software of Excellence (SOE)
* Previous experience in a dental practice is essential.
