If you're passionate about making a difference and want a rewarding full-time role helping children thrive, we have an exciting opportunity in Swindon at a well-resourced SEND school—complete with an on-site farm that enriches the learning environment.
About the Role:
We are looking for full-time Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis in a school that supports both primary and secondary-aged students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Down Syndrome, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and complex needs.
Students benefit from small class sizes, tailored learning, and access to the school’s on-site farm, which offers therapeutic and hands-on learning experiences. You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils engage with their education in a supportive, nurturing setting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting children 1:1 and in small groups with personalised learning and care needs
• Helping students regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and develop social and communication skills
• Encouraging participation in classroom and farm-based activities
• Assisting with transitions, routines, and personal development throughout the school day
• Collaborating closely with teaching and therapy staff to meet individual learning goals
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Confidence in supporting students with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and complex needs
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a committed team
• A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping every child reach their potential
What We Offer:
• A full-time, term-time only position in a specialist school with small classes and high staff-to-student ratios
• A unique working environment including access to an on-site farm for learning and therapy
• Ongoing professional development and support from an experienced SEN team
• The opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children with additional needs
• A warm, welcoming school community that values every team member
