Highways NEC4 Supervisor Location: A428 St Neots (Site-Based) Hours: 40 hours per week, up to 5 days per week Rate: Up to £55 Inside IR35 Start Date: ASAP | Duration: Up to 2 years Contract Type: On Payroll Expenses: Yes IT Access Required: Yes Timesheets: Yes About the Role We're seeking an experienced Highways NEC4 Supervisor to join the integrated delivery team on the A428 project based in St Neots. This is a key site-based role ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across a major highways construction scheme. You'll be responsible for supervising works in line with the NEC4 ECC Contract, supporting the Project Manager, and helping drive successful delivery on-site. The role involves both driving and walking around the construction site, including uneven terrain and access to upper levels via stairways and ladders where required. Key Responsibilities Undertake duties of Supervisor as defined in the NEC4 ECC Contract. Review the scheme's design and raise constructability queries regarding safety and quality. Review and agree Inspection and Test Plans, including witnessing requirements. Witness on-site testing and commissioning, recording and reporting results. Identify and notify any Defects in accordance with the Contract. Verify that standards of work and materials meet contractual specifications. Inspect and vest materials off-site where necessary. Monitor progress and advise the Client Project Manager of any risks or issues. Submit weekly reports covering progress, safety, quality, and completion status. Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits. Attend site and project meetings as required. Promote and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Qualifications & Experience NEC4 ECC Supervisor Accreditation - desirable. Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline - preferred (relevant NEC3/4 experience may be accepted instead). Proven experience in design and construction of highway infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Specification for Highway Works (SHW). Demonstrable experience in carrying out duties of an NEC4 Supervisor. Excellent communication, reporting, and client-facing skills. Diligent, proactive, and collaborative approach to problem-solving
