We are seeking a Children's Home Registered Manager to join our services in Barnsley, overseeing a one-bed home.
Main Purpose of Job
The Registered Manager holds accountability and overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that promotes the rights of young people. The manager leads a team of care workers, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance to achieve positive outcomes for young people’s physical, psychological, emotional, and social development. The role also involves contributing to the ethos, values, and aims of the organization.
Accountability
Responsible to the Responsible Individuals and Operational Directors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with legislation, regulations (including Ofsted SCIFF), and organizational policies, with an emphasis on equal opportunities, anti-discrimination, and safeguarding.
* Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation and provide staff training on these topics.
* Maintain appropriate records for young people and staff, and implement monitoring and evaluation systems.
* Provide management information and statistical data as required.
* Develop innovative childcare techniques and approaches, actively promoting the organization's well-being.
* Attend, prepare for, and chair internal and external meetings.
* Participate in on-call responsibilities and sleep-in shifts as needed.
* Write concise, evaluative reports and oversee all written communication to uphold standards.
* Make responsible decisions when appropriate.
* Oversee admissions and discharges to the home.
* Lead change effectively, aligning with the organizational ethos.
All managers are expected to have a relevant Diploma Level 5 or equivalent or be willing to work towards it.
Qualifications and Experience
* Enthusiasm for providing high-quality care and education.
* Experience managing a team.
* Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
* Understanding of the needs of vulnerable individuals.
* High standards of safe working practices.
* Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, young people, and external agencies.
* Emotional resilience when working with challenging behavior.
* Respect for boundaries and authority.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

* Valid UK driving license and access to appropriate transport.

* On-call payments: £25 weekdays, £35 weekends.
* Normal working hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, with sleep-in duties as required.
